🐋 Whale Swim Experience – Day 1

What to Expect

Today is one of the highlights of your Tonga family adventure — your first whale swim experience. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred from the hotel to the wharf, where you’ll board your private whale swim vessel exclusively reserved for our group.

With a maximum of just 8 guests onboard, this experience is calm, unhurried and perfectly suited to families. The crew carefully brief everyone before entering the water, ensuring a safe, respectful and unforgettable encounter with humpback whales in their natural environment.

The experience is paced with kids in mind, with plenty of breaks, encouragement and time to simply enjoy being out on the water.

After returning to shore, you’ll head back to the hotel to relax and unwind.

This evening is designed for rest and flexibility. Enjoy a swim in the hotel pool or a relaxed night in.

Your local guide remains onsite and is happy to:

  • Recommend family-friendly restaurants
  • Arrange transport into town
  • Accompany anyone who would like to head out for dinner

Dinner tonight is not included, allowing families to choose what suits them best.

Tonga is a magical destination, but it’s a bit different to other tourist hotspots like Fiji. Here, group tours can be tricky to run – there simply aren’t the big crowds to fill them. That means many amazing experiences don’t go ahead because we don’t get the numbers we need.

  • Once we hit the minimum number needed – the tour goes ahead, and everyone gets a great deal!
  • Your personal details stay private – no one else sees your name or info.
  • Groups close 14 working days prior to the tour date – so don’t wait too long to jump in!
