DAY 3 – THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2026

🐋 Whale Swim Experience – Day 2

What to Expect

Today you’ll head back out on the water for your second whale swim experience, building on everything you experienced yesterday. With the same private vessel and small group of just 8 guests, the day remains relaxed, flexible and family-focused.

Having already completed one day on the water, many guests feel even more comfortable today — often making this an extra special experience for both kids and adults. As always, the crew will guide you carefully, with safety, confidence and whale welfare as the priority.

🌟 What Makes This Day Special

Two days. More flexibility. Better chances.
We schedule whale swim days at the start of the trip for an important reason — weather.

By heading out in the first two days:

  • We maximise your chances of good conditions
  • If weather isn’t suitable, we have the flexibility to move the whale swim to another day later in the week
  • This gives families peace of mind and the best possible opportunity for a successful whale encounter

🐋 Whale Swim Experience – Inclusions

  • Water
  • Morning tea including locally baked cake and the offer of a hot drink
  • Lunch (typically a filled roll, local fruit and a fresh coconut)
  • Snorkelling gear, including:
    • 2.5mm springsuit
    • Flippers, snorkel and mask
    • A small selection of long wetsuits available
    • Jackets provided on the boat
  • A visit to a picturesque island with the opportunity for a snorkel, if conditions allow

(Whale swims are weather and whale dependent, with animal welfare always the top priority.)

Tonga is a magical destination, but it’s a bit different to other tourist hotspots like Fiji. Here, group tours can be tricky to run – there simply aren’t the big crowds to fill them. That means many amazing experiences don’t go ahead because we don’t get the numbers we need.

So, we’ve created “Travel Mates in Tonga”, a way to connect solo travellers, couples, and small groups who’d love to join a tour but need others to make it happen.

Here’s how it works:

  • Let us know the dates you are available to tour or if you see a date already with numbers you would like to join
  • Once we hit the minimum number needed – the tour goes ahead, and everyone gets a great deal!
  • Your personal details stay private – no one else sees your name or info.
  • Groups close 14 working days prior to the tour date – so don’t wait too long to jump in!

This is your chance to make travel magic happen, meet other like-minded travellers, and enjoy Tonga in good company.

Let’s make the tour happen – together.
